I enjoy how grand and metronomic the stars are, and I enjoy how chaotic the clouds are. And I enjoy how they inhabit the same bit of real estate, as far as I’m concerned. I can imagine what it would be like if their roles were reversed: there would be no fixed constellations; the stars would be in different places every time you looked at them. And the cotton candy/man on a roof/Abraham Lincoln’s head triad would float over my house every day around 4 o’clock.
It’s probably best the way it is.

Gunman kills 2 clowns in Colombian circus – CNN.com
Two clowns were shot and killed by an unidentified gunman during their performance at a traveling circus in the eastern Colombian town of Cucuta, police said Wednesday.One of the clowns was killed instantly, and the second died the next day in hospital.
I wonder if those clowns had it coming to them.

I was standing outside in the backyard in the dark a few minutes ago. There was an owl-shaped piece of wood that I noticed perched on top of one of the main branches of the neighbor’s cut-back pecan tree, and I gazed at it for a while, before it flew away.
