And another thing!

Just to drive the "wind resistance" point home, the extreme example is if I drove my Prius typically at 110 mph on the highway between here and New Orleans. It might be able to go that fast. My fuel economy, of course, would go into the shitter *because of greater wind resistance.* But if I typically drove down I-10 at a steady 30 mph, if I could somehow remain not-run-over, my fuel economy would be better than what I could get averaging 30 mph tootling around Gulfport and Biloxi.

The *only* way that might not be true is if the one-step energy transference from the gas engine to the drivetrain were somehow less efficient than the two-step energy transference from gas engine to battery/electric motor to drivetrain. But if that were true, why wouldn't the gas engine *always* use the battery/electric motor as a middleman and *never* directly power the drivetrain?

It just don't add up.

* I reverted the paragraph to the original, from this: "<del ">He then intones "Surprised?"</del> A man standing near him says "No way!" Dennis replies "Way!"".

After watching more tv, I now see that there are two commercials airing slightly different endings (one with "Surprised?" the other with a guy saying "No way!" to which Haysbert replies "Way!"

So I'm not losing my mind after all.
