Song Search by Tapping

This link that I got from j-walkblog is interesting; it went 2 for 2 for me, returning “Dixieland” and the pistols’ “God Save the Queen.”

This is the sort of thing you want to work, so you give it easy ones first. Or I did, so I thought. It got “Smoke on the Water”, but failed on “Takin Care of Business”.

Here’s what I tapped for “Takin Care of Business”:

But anyway, that killed several otherwise useless minutes for me. Thanks!

I got “Taking Care of Business” returned as the first possibility for my tapping. It sounds like you tapped out the guitar, whereas the program is looking for a tapped-out rendition of the vocals. It’d be nice if the program allowed non-vocal searches. I mean, I guess it’s impossible to find “Tubular Bells” or any of Herb Alpert or his Tijuana Brass using it.

    Whatever happened to Herb?
